Industry Leader Spotlight Presentation Guild
This month our Leadership Spotlight is on the team of leaders at Presentation Guild. The Presentation Guild is a community of experts in the presentation field, with members ranging from graphic designers to speakers and coaches. Graphic design is part of the presentations we attend or deliver nearly every day. We learn to create presentations on the job, but often don't know how to take them to the next level, make them sing! You could check to see when our Presentation Design class will be debuting or reach out to one of the many experts out there who do and will share their expertise. Formed in 2015, the Presentation Guild promotes the presentation design and production industry as a profession, recognizes the skills and expertise of presentation creation specialists, and provides opportunities for members to expand their knowledge and abilities. Throughout the year, the Guild holds both social and informational virtual events, including instructional webinars by industry experts on informational graphic design. The Guild also has a certification program, geared towards promoting presentation design as a standalone discipline. The Guild Slack channel provides access to experienced graphic designers from around the world who are willing to share their expertise with their fellow Guild members. They can provide guidance on topics ranging from how to use certain features in graphic design software to more effective ways to display information. Upcoming events include “Presentation Tricks, Treats & Horror Stories with Cliff Atkinson” along with certification training bootcamps and the annual meeting. The Guild also holds quarterly virtual Guild Gatherings where members can meet up informally to chat and share information. Our next gathering is scheduled for mid-November and will feature a discussion on designing for 3D virtual environments. Like what you hear?
